Coffee House
The Friends in Action “Visit with Friends” Coffee House is a social coffee morning for old people and people living with disabilities to gather for refreshments, coffee and conversation. There are occasional games of cribbage or scrabble, sometimes music or a sing-along, but always the opportunity to meet someone new or reconnect with an old friend. There is no charge; donations are welcomed.
The coffee house started in 2008 with a small grant from the Episcopal Diocese of Maine and was held at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in its first two years. In 2010, it moved into the Bryant E. Moore school building across the street, which became the Moore Community Center when it was renovated in 2014.
The coffee house has continued to be offered on Thursdays from 9:00 to 11:00 at the Friends in Action Senior Center! It has also been offered in other towns across the County (Prospect Harbor, Blue Hill, and Stonington) and on other days of the week.
Please call 664-6016 or email [email protected] for the current coffee house schedule.
